Robert Kiyosaki-Silver good hedge to inflation

Good Quote

In the simplicity of their minds, people more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have such imprudence. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and continue to think that there may be some other explanation.

Cynthia McKinney Calls from Israeli Prison

US remains silent over McKinney arrest by Israel

US remains silent over McKinney arrest by Israel

McKinney has served as a Democrat in the US House of Representatives from 1993–2003 and 2005–2007.
Nearly a day after the detention of former US lawmaker Cynthia McKinney by Israeli forces, Washington has yet to make a reaction. Israeli Navy detained former US congresswoman and Nobel Prize laureate Cynthia McKinney and twenty other human rights activists on board a relief boat outside Israel's territorial waters on Tuesday as they were heading to Gaza on a humanitarian mission. Tel Aviv claims the boat was trying to break Israel's two-year siege on Gaza. Ms McKinney -- the 2008 Green Party nominee for President of the United States-- has accused Tel Aviv of violating the international law by seizing an aid vessel in international waters. "This is an outrageous violation of international law against us. Our boat was not in Israeli waters, and we were on a human rights mission to the Gaza Strip," McKinney said in a statement. "We are asking the international community to demand our release so we can continue our journey," she added. "My wife and I are very concerned about her safety," Cynthia's father told Press TV in a phone call. Bill McKinney said that the US government should support Cynthia's message and added, "Her major concern is human." Green Party leaders have called on the White House and the US State Department to intervene and demand the immediate release of all the activists. On Monday, the International Committee of the Red Cross warned of dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, saying 1.5 million Palestinians living in the coastal sliver are 'trapped in despair' because of the continuing Israeli blockade on the territory. Since June 2007, when Israel imposed a blockade on the territory, no raw material has entered Gaza, stalling any attempt to rebuild the strip. According to the humanitarian agency report, seriously ill patients were not receiving the treatment they needed and thousands of Gazans whose homes were destroyed during Israel's three-week Christmas war were still without shelter.

lies, lies, lies

Lies, lies, lies!
By Hans Vogel from english.pravda.ru
The truth will set you free, the truth is simple and what is simple tends to be beautiful and attractive. Yet neither individuals nor societies can function without bending the truth. As matter of fact, many conventions and accepted ideas are based on fiction or and expressed as myths, but that is quite alright. After all, myths are collectively accepted versions of the truth that usually are not true in all their details. The truth is not really hurt by telling and repeating myths.
Apparently, modern “Western” society has been demythologized after the First World War that effectively ended European civilization. It would be foolish to argue that European civilization was perfect or the highest attainable, but at least it was a civilization, characterized by a coherent, identifiable world view. At least, European civilization has set standards in practically all fields of human endeavour that are still cherished and admired today.
The vacuum left by the collapse of European, or Western, civilization has been filled by the United States and that is the root of many current evils. The US has championed a pastiche of Western civilization, best indicated by putting Western between quotation marks. The US is a state based exclusively on a myth, supported by an ever increasing flood of lies and humbug. As long as the US was still a state confined to the North American continent, this was not a major problem. It was fine that the US believed its frontier was unique in history. It was fine for the US to cultivate the notion that it had been founded to be a “shining city upon a hill”, the envy of the rest of the world. Nor could anyone blame the US for believing it was an admirable democracy, whereas in fact, blacks were discriminated against and persecuted and any surviving native Americans routinely butchered. In their African and Asian colonies, Europeans often did not behave any better toward the natives.
Before World War I, few Europeans would consider calling their country a bastion of democracy. However, in the US nobody saw any inherent contradiction in the vociferous claim to be a democracy on the one hand and the treatment accorded their fellow citizens of a different hue on the other. The US was then and still is, in the words of Michael Parenti, a “democracy for the few.”
After the Europeans had slaughtered each other in a frenzied orgy of violence and destruction during the First World War, the US found itself suddenly in the lead position. It had been able to profit handsomely from Europe’s collective suicide, but soon found out it could not possibly run world affairs without European assistance, guidance, inspiration, ideas, even money. In fact, the task proved so daunting it decided to embrace isolationism, instead of assuming its true responsibilities.
After World War II, the above process repeated itself, but this time there was no room for isolationism. Any likely competitors either lay in ruins (France, Germany and Japan) or were destitute and exhausted (Britain and the Soviet Union). This time, US preponderance seemed even more pronounced than in 1918 and the opportunity simply was too good to pass. Though the US had been able to compensate somewhat for its lack of ideas by welcoming masses of fugitive European intellectuals, scholars, scientists and artists on the eve of World War II, it still remained an intellectually and culturally barren country. Meanwhile, however, the US had discovered one of its special talents: to take a foreign idea or concept, simplify and streamline it a bit, put it into mass circulation and make it the focus of a broad marketing or propaganda campaign. By this process the idea becomes “American” and the whole world will indeed believe it is.
Apart from outright lying, the above may sound like ordinary theft and swindle and indeed it might be, if there existed any historical consciousness in the US. However, since there is no historical consciousness at all in the US, it is difficult to blame its citizens. Not only is there no historical consciousness in the US, history is considered irrelevant. Worse, in fact, there is a hostility towards history in the US. Its people seem to nurture a secret envy towards any foreign country, any civilization with a deeply felt sense of history. Henry Ford once asserted that “history is bunk” and in 1992 Francis Fukuyama seemed quite relieved to proclaim “the end of history.” For two decades, many have indeed believed that history had ended and that US-led globalization would transform the entire world into a copy of the US. Liberal democracy and laissez-faire capitalism would be embraced everywhere and any other political and economic system would forever be banned from the face of the earth.
The systemic crisis that has only just begun and that will develop in ways no one can possibly tell at the moment, will also signal a return to history. We are all back with our feet on the ground now, even the US. The entire system in which we are living is tied together by lies, spread with the purpose to confuse us, by a myriad of cynical agencies and individuals. The fairy-tale world they have tried to make us believe in, of eternal growth and development, of eternal youth, health and vigour, and never-ending profits has collapsed along with the stock markets. The mirage presented to the world by Hollywood, the Main Stream Media, advertisement, the US State Department, the Pentagon the White House and all their foreign cronies and boot lickers has suddenly vanished.
The present crisis will be very serious indeed. Why? Because ever since the end of World War II, US-generated lies have blinded most of us and goaded us into believing the incredible, against our better knowledge. We’re not talking one lie, or two, or a dozen, but a huge pack of lies, all interconnected, a framework of lies, a skyscraper of lies, with every single room, every nook and cranny filled to the rim with lies.
Over the last years, the avalanche of lies, like a true avalanche, has been picking up speed and gaining strength before finally being brought to a standstill by the credit crisis. What we will be witnessing from now on will be the unravelling of every one and single lie that has been distorting our view of reality. The first big lie to be pierced is the idea that capitalism is beneficial. Like socialism in the 1980s, it is now becoming clear that no single economic system can solve all the problems facing us today. Those who seemingly represent the essence of capitalism, the Wall Street bankers in their confidence-inspiring three-piece suits and shiny wingtips, are behaving like any old bum on Skid Row: they beg for your money and when they get it, they do not put it to any meaningful use. How dangerous it can be to trust Wall Street types has been demonstrated by the 50 billion dollar ponzi scheme operated by Bernie Madoff, until recently one of the industry’s most trusted operators.
To name some of the biggest lies that will, and will have to come unravelled:

- the official conspiracy theory of 9/11- the threat posed by Bin Laden and al-Qaeda
- the bogus war on terror
- the role of the DEA in fighting drug abuse
- democracy in Afghanistan and Iraq
- the superiority of the US
- the need for NATO
- the US dollar
- the gold price (manipulated by COMEX)
- global warming
- US democratic values
- the trickle down effect
- the educational system (which has been turning out masses of undereducated kids)
- the food industry (which is slowly poisoning us, with government protection)

Many other lies will be challenged as well, including numerous truths that have never been called into question so far, with the result that the accepted view of much of 20th-century history will have to be corrected and amended. It would be straying too far trying to enumerate even a few of these. Without a doubt, this process will take place in the coming decades.
For now, we shall be busy enough coming to terms with the many lies of the immediate past. At any rate, it will be futile to seek out the culprits and punish them, for we are all guilty for having been too gullible. It will be a good lesson that teaches us to reclaim our status of citizens, of civilized, critical individuals with broad responsibilities, and cease to be just consumers.
Those who will benefit most from these lessons, at least it is to be hoped sincerely, are the people of the United States. This is their chance to reclaim their humanity and to join the rest of us in the world and to accept history, to learn it and to respect it.

Good Rapper, Good Interview

http://www.realitysandwich.com/immortal_technique

Good quote

"A revolutionary is part of the political world; his approach is through politics. His understanding is that changing the social structure is enough to change the human being. A rebel, as I use the term, is a spiritual phenomenon. His approach is absolutely individual. His vision is that if we want to change the society, we have to change the individual. Society in itself does not exist; it is only a word, like "crowd" - if you go to find it, you will not find it anywhere. Wherever you encounter someone, you will encounter an individual. "Society" is only a collective name - just a name, not a reality - with no substance. The individual has a soul, has a possibility of evolution, of change, of transformation. Hence, the difference is tremendous. A true rebel brings into the world a change of consciousness - and if the consciousness changes, then the structure of the society is bound to follow it. But vice versa is not the case, and it has been proved by all the revolutions because they have failed. No revolution has yet succeeded in changing human beings; but it seems we are not aware of the fact. We still go on thinking in terms of revolution, of changing society, of changing the government, of changing the bureaucracy, of changing laws, political systems. Feudalism, capitalism, communism, socialism, fascism - they were all in their own way revolutionary. They all have failed, and failed utterly, because man has remained the same... The world has known only very few rebels. But now is the time: if humanity proves incapable of producing a large number of rebels, a rebellious spirit, then our days on the earth are numbered. Then the coming decades may become our graveyard. We are coming very close to that point... We have to change our consciousness, create more meditative energy in the world, create more lovingness. Rebellion is a discontinuity. It is not reform, it is not revolution; it is simply disconnecting yourself from all that is old. The old religions, the old political ideologies, the old human being - all that is old, you disconnect yourself from it. You start life afresh, from scratch... The revolutionary tries to change the old; the rebel simply comes out of the old, just as a snake slips out of the old skin and never looks back. The future needs no more revolutions. The future needs a new experiment, which has not been tried yet. Although for thousands of years there have been rebels, they remained alone - individuals. Perhaps the time was not ripe for them. But now the time is not only ripe....if you don't hurry, the time has come to an end. In the coming decades, either mankind will disappear or a new human being with a new vision will appear on the earth. That new human being will be a rebel." _Excerpt from "The Book of Understanding" by OSHO

Manufacturing Consent

Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media by Edward S. Herman and Noam Chomsky Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media by Edward S. Herman and Noam Chomsky coolfireband Presenting an analysis its authors call the "propaganda model," the book argues that since mass media news outlets are now run by large corporations, they are under the same competitive pressures as other corporations. According to the book, the pressure to create a stable, profitable business invariably distorts the kinds of news items reported, as well as the manner and emphasis in which they are reported. This occurs not as a result of conscious design but simply as a consequence of market selection: those businesses who happen to favor profits over news quality survive, while those that present a more accurate picture of the world tend to become marginalized.

Robert Anton Wilson discusses E prime

Here are some lectures speaking about the work of Alfred Korzybski.

Basically the idea is that the structure of our language is out of date. We are still using the stucture based on the science of Aristotles time. Our scientific understanding of reality has been advanced incredibly by the discoveries of Einstein and Quantum Physics, but we are still trying to represent this newly discovered world with a language structure that does not allow the new possibilities to be expressed accurately.

Good way to gain a broader understanding

This is a section of an article found here

http://thecleaver.blogspot.com/

which I think can improve our understanding of our world..check it out..

By One’s Own Fair Hand

Have you ever heard anyone justify their TV news or newspaper consumption by saying, “I like to know what’s going on in the world.

”This is a sign of deep unconsciousness.

It is not news. Not by a long chalk. Even the most fresh-faced neophyte on the inner journey will be aware that the news fails miserably to provide a balanced view of what is occurring here on planet Earth. It most certainly does not represent the felt experience of human beings. It is what someone else considers to be the ten most important headlines of the day. As such, whether broadcast from BBC, Sky, CNN or Fox, the news is comment and propaganda. And those who choose what makes the headlines, are most definitely not interested in informing, educating and enriching the minds of their audience. Quite the reverse. They aim to distract, shock and depress. Above all, to generate… you guessed it… fear.

Switch off the TV and cancel the newspaper. The glossy messaging on the screens and pages is filtered, edited, airbrushed, packaged, owned and distributed by a tiny number of unhealthy, unelected and highly inequitable entities.

Whilst there exists a few brave and maverick journalists who manage to squeeze their insights through the corporate cracks, this is becoming increasingly unusual. So, the information must be gathered by one’s own fair hand. Thankfully, this does not demand frenzied international travel as a multidisciplinary light-speed journalist. That won’t be necessary. Something a lot more convenient is at hand. It can be justly stated that the Internet has spawned definite channels of communication and knowledge for those seeking a clearer idea of what is occurring around us. Compared to the raging torrents of mainstream media, such channels are but tiny streams, trickling imperceptibly down the mountainside. But they flow. They exist. And they continue to grow.

If you really want to know what is occurring in people's lives, communities and countries - you have to compile the news for yourself.

An excellent way of quickly scanning multiple sources of information, from different perspectives around the globe, is to setup a screen of web feeds (RSS) in iGoogle, or Netvibes or My Yahoo etc. On a single screen, the feeds can represent news from local, national, international, mainstream, government, military, financial, independent, human rights groups, social justice groups, anarchist groups, charities, academia, survivalists and environmentalists. Whatever you wish. Naturally, you may not agree with many of the viewpoints. You may even feel a moral aversion to some. Nevertheless, this is a superb method for gathering intelligence and assessing news of world events. The ability to balance, compare and analyze - right there in front of you. Setting up the whole thing should take no more than 30 minutes. Once this is done, the information at your fingertips will be much more representative of actual occurrences in the world and can be more justifiably considered news. One minute of reading over the headlines (which automatically update themselves) and you know 100X more than most people.

Anyone who cannot be bothered to do this, and would prefer to simply watch the BBC or CNN as their primary news source, is evidently not interested in what’s going on in the world. They seek only to indulgently sedate themselves.

Understand the fear mechanism. Understand its uses. Disassociate mainstream broadcasts from news. Fear loses its grip.

The higher frequencies of being become available again. They were there all along, we just couldn’t reach them. With false cognition out of the way, they flow into us and we flow into them. We integrate the primal. Our dreams, imagination, consciousness and love begin to shape reality.

As it should be.

Good Quote

Something hit me very hard once, thinking about what one little man could do. Think of the Queen Mary -- the whole ship goes by and then comes the rudder. And there's a tiny thing at the edge of the rudder called a trim tab.
It's a miniature rudder. Just moving the little trim tab builds a low pressure that pulls the rudder around. Takes almost no effort at all. So I said that the little individual can be a trim tab. Society thinks it's going right by you, that it's left you altogether. But if you're doing dynamic things mentally, the fact is that you can just put your foot out like that and the whole big ship of state is going to go.
So I said, call me Trim Tab.

The Rich Economy by Robert Anton Wilson

http://www.deepleafproductions.com/wilsonlibrary/texts/raw-RICH.html

Bucky Fuller for Dummies

Bucky Fuller for Dummies

I admire Bucky Fuller very much. I believe that his ideas, if implemented could change our world in wonderful ways. Unfortunately, his writings and lectures are difficult to understand for most people, myself included. He was an engineer, scientist, inventor and humanitarian. At the age of 32 he decided to dedicate his life to helping all of humanity. He basically did so by trying to understand the big principles of the universe. Some of his theories and ideas are pretty hard to understand. I am currently trying to make sense of many of them myself. I think it will take me awhile. That being said, I believe that many of his concepts are quite simple and can be grasped by most grade school children. Here they are:

THERE IS ENOUGH TO GO AROUND: This basically means that with the technological know how we have today we can feed, educate and house every individual on the planet. One of the biggest problems on our planet is that the governments of the world believe that there are not enough resources to go around. This is the real reason you see so many wars continuing to take place on our planet. Underlying most conflicts is the basic goal of resource theft. The powerful justify the slaughter of innocents by telling themselves “It’s us or them”. They believe that there are no other options and it must be this way.

This idea was started by the economist Thomas Malthus. He was the first man who had access to the crucial data of the planet Earth. He worked for the British Monarchy and the East India company. He analyzed this data and came to the conclusion that there were not enough resources on the planet to support the growth in population. From that point on, the dominant philosophy became since there isn’t enough we must use force to make sure there is enough for us. With today’s technology this is no longer true. If we work together as a planet, we could maximize efficiencies and life could be better for all. This leads us to another big idea Fuller had.

DO MORE WITH LESS: Fuller discovered that one of the biggest secrets of the world today was that the technology available to build different machines especially planes and ships was far in advance of the technology we use in our daily lives. He also noticed that the performance we get from using different metals combined into new ones could increase performance and durability to incredible levels. Malthus’ idea is now obsolete. These technologies are always used at first by the Military Industry(see the documentary”Why We Fight”) and then sometimes filters into the normal day to day lives of common folk. While civilians are being killed in quicker, more efficient and less personal means, the same civilians are not seeing any benefit to their lives from these technologies. This is due to the fact that the brightest scientific minds are usually scooped up by the war profiteers early in their careers. I believe that these scientists are not bad people who want their mind power to be harnessed for evil. I think they are just normal people trying to feed their kids and pay the mortgage. Unfortunately, they do not see they overall devastation that the improper use of their knowledge brings. If the scientific know how was applied towards life improvement instead of destruction our world would be transformed. The reason the incredibly intelligent scientists cannot see the big picture brings us to Fullers next big idea.

OVERSPECIALIZATION LEADS TO EXTINCTION: Basically in the past there were the Great Pirates of the world. These guys knew a little about everything. They could do some math, read and could speak many languages. They were comprehensive thinkers. They could see the big picture. They could analyze many types of data and make a decision based on this info. This gave them the power to control nations and peoples. They wanted to keep this power. So what they did was choose a local strongman on the land to administer the local resources. This guy was called the king or had another fancy sounding title. The great pirate said to the king” Ok if you spot any bright young people you should give them a job in the kingdom, but it should be a job focused in one specific area. If they are completely focused on one area they cannot understand the whole and they cannot challenge my power. This was the beginning of specialization. It in many ways it has been incredibly successful and has lead to many modern conveniences we enjoy today. That being said, It also leads to the impossibility of understanding how the world as a whole works. If I am a lawyer who has stuffed my nose into law books for 10 years, how can I understand the science of natural processes. If I am a businessman concerned only with profit, how can I understand the whole. The answer is they can’t. Right now the decisions controlling the world are made by these guys. Normal people are in the same boat. Most of us have been trained to do one specific job. This career we are in is all we know. We are all working for our own little goals and have no concept of the greater good that may be possible through greater understanding. By overspecializing we make adaptation very difficult. Unfortunately, If the environment changes rapidly only those who can adapt survive.

SYNERGY: His next idea that must be mentioned is synergy. Synergy is basically how different variables in a system interact with each other. The overall behavior of a system can not be predicted by the behavior of it parts. Our overspecialization has made us oblivious to systematic trends and behaviors. We only see our little piece of the life pie and ignore the rest. We don’t work together for greater goals. This is basically inefficient. If the people of the world cooperated we could all live better lives. The world system does not yet exist. It could make things much better. I am not talking NWO conspiracy type world government. I don’t think a world government administered by the current power elite would benefit the common man at all. They are the ones that have set up the current systems that are wrecking the planet. I do think that cooperation of all peoples for the benefit of all peoples would be a much better prospect than fighting over the worlds resources. Maybe a world partnership where everyone is an equal partner would be better.

That’s all for now..Peace
